The Right Photoinitiator for Every UV System
Topfine Chemical supplies 35+ free radical photoinitiators covering every mainstream UV curing chemistry: norrish type I and type II systems, photo-blends, liquid formulations and specialty grades — from general-purpose coatings to deep-cure LED inks.
Type I Photoinitiators (α-cleavage)
- 1173 — liquid workhorse for wood and general coatings; 3–5% typical loading.
- 184 — low-yellowing solid for clear coats, laminates and electronics.
- 369 — high-efficiency initiator for pigmented systems and printing inks.
- 907 — standard for thick, pigmented UV inks and flexo/offset applications.
- BP and 4-MBP — amine-synergized systems for economical inks and varnishes.
- TPO and TPO-L — long-wavelength (370 nm) deep cure and photo-bleaching, ideal for LED curing; 1–3% in coatings, 5–10% in inks.
- MBF — low-odor, cross-linking for food-contact and flexible packaging inks.
Type II (H-Abstraction) Photoinitiators
ITX and DETX work with amine co-initiators for 350–400 nm systems, printed electronics and thick pigmented layers — usually in blends to rebalance absorption.
Blends and Handling
Liquid blends such as the PPI series (e.g. PPI-101) and NPI series give formulators ready-to-use performance with simpler dosing and lower melting-point risk. Store all photoinitiators in a cool, dark, ventilated area — see our Photoinitiator Storage & Handling Guide for the full checklist.
