NPI-801 is a free radical photoinitiator specially designed for long-wavelength curing. It has good absorbance in the near-visible UV wavelength and excellent deep curing performance. NPI-801 is suitable for dental materials and other special applications requiring ultra-long absorption wavelength.
Introduction
NPI-801 is a titanocene, and it is unlike anything else in this catalogue. Its absorption runs to 400 and 445 nm, deep into the visible, which means it cures under light that would leave a conventional photoinitiator untouched. It appears as an orange powder and is supplied at ≥99.00% by HPLC.
The application that drives demand for this chemistry is dental: visible-light curing at wavelengths that are safe to use in the mouth. It is also used in holographic recording media and other specialty imaging work where the wavelength has to be long. It is not a general-purpose coatings initiator, and it is expensive relative to the rest of the range.
Physical & Chemical Properties
Orange powder. Chemical name bis(2,6-difluoro-3-(1-hydropyrrol-1-yl)phenyl)titanocene. Molecular formula C30H22F4N2Ti, molecular weight 534.38, purity ≥99.00% by HPLC, melting range 165–170 °C, loss on drying ≤0.50%. Absorption maxima at 400 nm and 445 nm. Recommended at 1–3%.
Applications
Dental materials and other visible-light-cured systems, holographic and specialty imaging media, and applications requiring an ultra-long absorption wavelength. The general chemistry is sold elsewhere as Omnirad 784 and Irgacure 784.
Regulatory status
NPI-801 has no harmonised classification under CLP and is not on the REACH Candidate List. It is not listed in Swiss Annex 10. Titanocene photoinitiators are a specialised class with their own toxicological profile, so read the SDS rather than reasoning by analogy from the organic initiators in this range.
Handling & Storage
Store sealed, cool, dry and dark. Consult the SDS before handling.
Packaging
Packaging as agreed at order. COA per batch, SDS in English, samples available.
Applications & Industries
Coatings & Paints
Metal driers (cobalt, manganese, zirconium octoate, naphthenates) and photoinitiators for coatings, paints, varnishes and industrial finishes — with COA & MSDS per batch.
UV Curing & Printing Inks
Free radical photoinitiators for UV-curable inks, coatings, adhesives and 3D printing — 1173, 184, 369, 907, ITX, DETX, TPO/TPO-L and liquid blends, QC-tested per batch.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is your minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
MOQ depends on the product and specification. For most chemicals we can supply from 1 kg sample orders up to full container loads (FCL). Contact us with the product name and CAS number for a specific MOQ quotation.
Can you provide samples before I place a bulk order?
Yes. Samples are available for most products — typically 100g to 1kg. Sample fees may apply for expensive products and are usually deducted from your first bulk order. We recommend independent testing of samples before committing to bulk.
What documents do you provide with each shipment?
Every shipment includes a batch-specific Certificate of Analysis (COA), MSDS/SDS, commercial invoice, packing list and bill of lading. Certificates of origin, REACH/SVHC declarations and third-party inspection reports are available on request.
What is your typical lead time?
Production usually takes 10–20 days depending on the product and quantity. Sea freight to most destinations takes 15–30 days; air freight 5–10 days for samples and small orders. Our five warehouses in China allow fast dispatch of stocked items.
What payment terms do you accept?
We commonly accept 30% deposit + 70% against copy of bill of lading, T/T bank transfer, and Letters of Credit (L/C) for larger orders. Payment terms are confirmed in writing before production starts.
Are you a factory or a trading company?
We are an integrated supplier with three in-house manufacturing plants, supported by five warehouses across China. This gives us direct control over production quality while maintaining a broad product range.
