NPI-20401 is a general-purpose free radical photoinitiator with high initiating activity and excellent deep curing performance. It offers non-reproductive toxic, low odor, low migration, good solubility, and excellent thermal stability. It is typically used as a substitute for 907 and is especially suitable for colored systems when combined with thioxanthone photoinitiators.
Introduction
NPI-20401 is the second of our 907 substitutes, closely related to NPI-20400 and developed for the same reason: 907 has been on the REACH Candidate List since 2020, and formulators need somewhere to go that does not carry a reproductive-toxicity classification.
Like NPI-20400 it is dosed higher than 907, at 3–5% against 907's 1–3%, and it is most effective in coloured systems when combined with a thioxanthone.
Physical & Chemical Properties
Off-white to light yellow powder. Purity ≥98.50% by HPLC. Absorption maximum at 313 nm. Recommended dosage 3–5%. Full chemical identity is confidential and available under NDA.
Applications
Coloured UV-curing systems, particularly where 907 has been specified historically and a non-reproductive-toxic alternative is needed.
Regulatory status and the confidentiality caveat
NPI-20401 has no reproductive-toxicity classification. Beyond that, we cannot make a complete regulatory statement on an open page, because the chemical identity is confidential and a regulatory check needs a CAS number. For a UV-curable coating going into an industrial application that is usually workable. For food contact, or for a customer who runs an audit, it is not.
So we will do this instead: sign the NDA, disclose the identity, and let you or your adviser run the checks. We would rather hand you the means to verify than ask you to take a claim on trust.
Packaging
20 kg cartons. COA per batch, SDS in English under NDA where required.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is your minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
MOQ depends on the product and specification. For most chemicals we can supply from 1 kg sample orders up to full container loads (FCL). Contact us with the product name and CAS number for a specific MOQ quotation.
Can you provide samples before I place a bulk order?
Yes. Samples are available for most products — typically 100g to 1kg. Sample fees may apply for expensive products and are usually deducted from your first bulk order. We recommend independent testing of samples before committing to bulk.
What documents do you provide with each shipment?
Every shipment includes a batch-specific Certificate of Analysis (COA), MSDS/SDS, commercial invoice, packing list and bill of lading. Certificates of origin, REACH/SVHC declarations and third-party inspection reports are available on request.
What is your typical lead time?
Production usually takes 10–20 days depending on the product and quantity. Sea freight to most destinations takes 15–30 days; air freight 5–10 days for samples and small orders. Our five warehouses in China allow fast dispatch of stocked items.
What payment terms do you accept?
We commonly accept 30% deposit + 70% against copy of bill of lading, T/T bank transfer, and Letters of Credit (L/C) for larger orders. Payment terms are confirmed in writing before production starts.
Are you a factory or a trading company?
We are an integrated supplier with three in-house manufacturing plants, supported by five warehouses across China. This gives us direct control over production quality while maintaining a broad product range.
