Potassium citrate, also known as tripotassium citrate, is a type of citrate with the molecular formula C₆H₅K₃O₇ and a molecular weight of 306.39500. It is a white or slightly yellow crystalline granular or crystalline powder, odorless, with a salty and cool taste, and is hygroscopic. It is easily soluble in water and almost insoluble in ethanol. Its relative density is 1.98. When heated to 230°C, it melts and decomposes.
