Calcium dihydrogen phosphate, also known as monocalcium phosphate, has the chemical formula Ca(H₂PO₄)₂·H₂O. It is a white monoclinic crystalline powder with no odor or taste. It is soluble in dilute hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, and acetic acid, slightly soluble in water, and insoluble in ethanol. Its relative density is 2.32. It is stable in air. It starts to lose water at 75°C to form anhydrous calcium hydrogen phosphate. At 30°C, 1.8g of calcium dihydrogen phosphate can be dissolved in 100ml of water. The aqueous solution is acidic, and heating the aqueous solution will hydrolyze it into orthocalcium hydrogen phosphate. It loses crystal water at 109°C and decomposes into calcium metaphosphate at 203°C.
